Hi my name is Jenny and I am the founder of Two Hands One Heart TZ.

As someone who’s life has always been surrounded with volunteer work since a young age it was no surprise when my heart lead me out to Africa in my late 20’s.

 

As a believer in education I found myself teaching in Ghana first then Tanzania. I felt a sense of home when I came to Tanzania and never turned back. I walked away from the Children’s home I spent many years volunteering at to venture out on my own. After many trips to visit remote villages outside of town I quickly recognized the immediate need for help.

 

In 2019 I visited Meserani Chini School for the first time and immediately I knew I wanted to help. In just a few years we have helped the school build new toilets, put in a water filter system, painted new murals, bought 100 new desks, built a kitchen and started a lunch program. Watching the number of kids continue to grow each year truly makes my heart happy. Education is often overlooked out in the villages as most families expect the kids to work at home and the women get married and have babies.

 

My hope is that by encouraging children to come to school maybe one of those kids will continue there education further and come back to help give back to their families, community and village in the future. Although the school is one of our biggest projects.

 

We also do lots of things in the community as well. We have done many visits out to different villages in the area to deliver individual water filters to the families at their homes, as well as a sponsorship program.

 

We have big dreams for the future too hoping to one day drill for water in the village.

 

We collaborate with Nndeeafrika to blend adventure with impact. By booking a safari through them, travelers help fund our schools, water  and outreach programs in rural Tanzania.
